Membership

Membership in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and the Galveston Alumni Chapter is a solemn and lifelong commitment. It represents a deep dedication to the noble ideals and enduring purpose of our Fraternity. Kappa Alpha Psi considers for membership only those individuals whose personal, academic, and social qualities reflect the highest standards and align with the Fraternity’s guiding principles.

Membership is not a favor granted—it is an honor earned. The Fraternity seeks men who are prepared to serve, lead, and uplift—not those who view membership as a personal accolade. No man who considers himself above the Brotherhood is worthy of this distinction. Kappa Alpha Psi is not concerned with the mere expansion of its membership or the proliferation of chapters; rather, it is committed to fostering men of substance, vision, and integrity.

Prospective members must demonstrate a character marked by humility, accountability, and leadership. Ideal candidates possess the ability to live in harmony with men of like values, the maturity to respect the will of the majority while honoring individual thought, and the wisdom to avoid destructive criticism by addressing its root causes. They accept responsibility for progress, pursue excellence in all endeavors, commit to lifelong leadership development, and uphold their obligation to support the Fraternity’s initiatives financially and otherwise.

To be considered for alumni membership in Kappa Alpha Psi, you must hold at least a bachelor’s degree—or its equivalent—from an accredited college or university.
